Responding to the question, “What actions does your office take to welcome and integrate new employees?,” Steve discussed how the trending topic brainstorm that the agency holds each morning not only helps integrate new employees but also keeps all staff engaged.

Ways to Welcome New Employees "The Cyphers Agency is an integrated marketing agency that works with a variety of both for-profit and not-for-profit clients. The means all of our departments – creative, digital marketing, public relations and accounts – work very closely together on a daily basis. Given this, we host a 'trending topic' brainstorm every morning, where we discuss what's trending on social media and how we or our clients can enter the conversation. We invariably end up informally discussing what we're watching on Netflix, what we think about this or that piece of advertising or general news, etc. We make a point to immediately incorporate new employees in these discussions, and they seem to really enjoy sharing what they think during them. These brainstorming sessions continually prove how valuable it is to start the day with the kind of face-to-face interaction that seems so rare in the office environment these days, plus it really helps our newcomers get acquainted with our staff and the issues that impact our work and that of our clients." - Steven Adams, Public Relations Account Executive, The Cyphers Agency, Crofton, MD
