Google My Business – https://www.google.com/business/ is offering restaurants a way to promote their menus and get orders for pickup and delivery without charge until January, 2021. Get started with it through your Google My Business listing.
In case you aren’t familiar with what a Google My Business listing is, it’s a free way for local restaurants to appear in Google search results and map listings when someone searches for a restaurant near them. A Google Business listing allows you to provide details about your restaurant such as address, hours, menu items or link to your menu, reservation information, etc. All you need to do is verify your listing and add information. Keeping your listing up-to-date with special offers can bring even more visitors to your establishment. If your restaurant has multiple locations, you can add all of them under one account.
More Bookings and Online Orders – Your listing can lead to instant bookings or pickup orders – Google has partnerships with third-party booking platforms to let your diners book their reservations easily without needing to visit multiple websites. Customers who find your listing through Google maps can order directly from it using your chosen platform. They won’t need to install a separate app! This helps local restaurants who are tired of paying fees to delivery apps like GrubHub and are changing the way they operate due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Photos – Once you have your listing verified, enhance it by adding great photos of your restaurant’s interior and exterior, and of course, your wonderful food. If you’re offering outdoor seating, be sure to include photos of your outside dining area.
Posts – Remember to log in to your Google My Business listing regularly and post updates. You can Create a Post – with options to select either COVID-19 update, Offer, Event, or What’s New. What’s New is a general type of post where you can add a link to your website. Offer, Event and What’s New posts remain active for 7 days only. You can add up to 10 photos or videos to these post types as well.
Insights – Check Insights to see what people did when they saw your listing. There are detailed stats about how many actions occurred, such as requesting directions or calling your restaurant.
